The Z 400mm F2.8 TC VR S is a working sports lens with a built-in teleconverter, which is exactly the kind of lens that gets capped and uncapped twenty times in a session. Anything fiddly gets abandoned by the second hour.

This cap is made for the front of this exact lens and clicks straight on, no adapter ring and nothing to thread. Two stainless springs hold it, so it comes off with one hand and goes back the same way, gloves on. The raised anti-slip ring lets you rest the lens face down without it sliding.

It clears the HK-42 hood forward or reversed, so the hood stays mounted.

About the 3D printing. It is not hobby filament. It is fiberglass-reinforced engineering plastic, printed by us in the USA, with stainless steel screws and springs.
