I have been using a flexible/fabric cover for my Nikkor Z 800mm PF since I bought the lens. It fits over the lens hood, so I don't have to remove the hood in order to use it. I find it easier to use than the bulky OEM cover that came with the lens. However, what I've really wanted since buying the lens was an actual lens cap like the one that came with my Nikkor Z 180-600mm. I was very pleased to discover this lens cap offered by CamDec and it fits the 800PF perfectly. It is a little snug when putting it on, but once on properly it is very secure. Build quality is excellent and it feels like it will last a long time. I'm very happy with this purchase.
I was somewhat put off by the 3d printer aspect but the lens cap is very sturdy, solid and extremely well made - fits like a glove. I also bought the hood because of the shorter mount - also fits perfectly. It was delivered to me in BC one month BEFORE the predicted date of delivery - There was an unexpected customs charge of $24.

I love the size and quality of the hood. My only concern is that the “lock” doesn’t appear to be very strong and I worry about losing it in the field. If it locked in like the original it would be perfect!
