Pick your own hood length for the 300 GM
Sony gives you one hood, at one length, chosen to look right in the box. On a lens people handhold all day that is rarely the length you want.
Ours come in lengths from 45mm to 121mm for the same lens. Short for hiking and travel, where the hood has to fit the bag. Long for maximum shade and front element protection when you are set up and staying put.
Each one is a proper bayonet mount that clicks on exactly like the original, with no adapter ring. The interior is cut with fine grooves that break up internal reflections before they reach the glass, and every length is checked for vignetting on this lens. Mount it forward to shoot or reverse it to pack.
Add a matching cap and save $10. Our CamDec cap for this lens is available in the options above.
About the 3D printing. It is not hobby filament. It is glass-reinforced engineering plastic, printed by us in the USA, that resists heat and moisture.

This hood is a good addition to the lens cap for the Sony300mm 2.8 lens.. very nice product.
Great alternative to the original hood to save space when travelling. It fits very well and still gives decent protection. By the way, it also fits the 400-800 lens, but the medium size version is probably best for that one.
