For the IS II, the one that changed the game

The IS II took the 600mm f/4 from 5,360g to 3,920g in 2011, and that single change is why so many wildlife photographers stopped using a tripod for everything. It gets handled far more than the lens it replaced.

This cap is made for the front of this exact lens and clicks straight on, no adapter ring and nothing to thread. Two stainless springs hold it, so it comes off with one hand and goes back the same way, gloves on. The raised anti-slip ring lets you rest the lens face down without it sliding.

It clears the ET-185B hood.

Check which version you have. Canon made several of these and they take different caps. The name is printed around the front of the barrel. This is for the IS II, hood ET-185B. The first IS uses the ET-160.

About the 3D printing. It is not hobby filament. It is fiberglass-reinforced engineering plastic, printed by us in the USA, with stainless steel screws and springs.
