For the IS III
At 3,050g the IS III is lighter than most 500mm lenses were a decade earlier. People carry it further, which means the front element sees more of the world and needs covering more often.
This cap is made for the front of this exact lens and clicks straight on, no adapter ring and nothing to thread. Two stainless springs hold it, so it comes off with one hand and goes back the same way, gloves on. The raised anti-slip ring lets you rest the lens face down without it sliding.
It clears the hood mounted forward or reversed.
Check which version you have. Canon made several of these and they take different caps. The name is printed around the front of the barrel. This is for the IS III, not the IS II or the RF version.
About the 3D printing. It is not hobby filament. It is fiberglass-reinforced engineering plastic, printed by us in the USA, with stainless steel screws and springs.
Fits: Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM · 2018

The lens cap exceeded my expectations. Perfect for my large lens
I was totally amazed at how they fit both my canon EF 400 mm and EF 800 mm lenses. They slip into the end of the lens and are snug tight where they don't shake loose or fall out. These are the bomb! for big lenses where factory caps are lacking. They are priced reasonably with free shipping. Thank you, ~John
